Ascent Trip ReportFrom ESE, dirt road from Bab Kaza: we drove 12km to a wide spot where we could park. Dirt road pretty good although our unreasonably low slung Ford Fiesta needed care. Then straight uphill, wooded slope rubbly in places. Four small rock bands on the way up required easy scrambling although we missed all but one of them on the way down (the more direct leg of the GPS track descending more easterly).
Highest point is an inclined rock slab (N35.13234° W5.14670°, 2154m), with cairn 100m to south a few cm lower, determined by hand level. A nice limestone peak with cypress woodland on the way up and a few patches of snow still lying. Too hazy for distant views, but fine views across the valley. Several black redstart singing with one showing well just below the summit. 45mins up, 35mins down then a nice easy scenic drive back to Rabat for our flight back to the UK.
A very welcome bonus travel-day peak - having learned from Jonathan de Ferranti a few days earlier that it has more than 1000m of prominence we thought we'd investigate :-)
