Ascent of Mount Tule on 2017-04-15

| Elevation:||4647 ft / 1416 m|
Ascent Trip ReportFrom McCain Valley Rd I took the turnoff located at GPS coordinates 32.701294, -116.258659, drove approximately 1.5 miles on the dirt road, and parked my vehicle at GPS coordinates 32.712671, -116.236754. The road is probably best navigated in a high clearance vehicle, but 4WD is not necessary. Having parked where I did, the hike to the summit was quite short...only about 2.5 miles round trip. I began the hike by following the jeep trail South-Southwest until it essentially disappeared. At that point, I simply pushed the remaining 1/3 mile straight up to the summit. This stretch of the hike was quite steep (about 35% incline by my recorded track), but generally manageable with regard to foliage, rocks, etc. Views from the top were good, and as per usual I have uploaded a 360-degree photosphere to Google Maps for anyone interested in scouting the view before they go.
