Ascent Trip Report

The trail started out on a very steep incline so we took a few breaks on the way up. Around the 3000' area we began to see patches of snow. After taking an extended break at the Devil's Acre Lean-To we located the old rail trail/path and headed toward the summit of SW Hunter. We cut up before reaching the established herds path on a 500' vertical push to a plateau. Once on the plateau we had to push through dense brush to the true summit. It was difficult to locate the canister. We spent 10 minutes on the summit and had a snack then proceeded down the herds path. The old rail path was covered in ice which slowed us down significantly. We took another extended break back at the Devil's Acre Lean-To then continued back to the car.
