Ascent Trip ReportFrom New Canyon road, just before the gate. Rain the day before followed by a hard freeze led to very consolidated and solide snow as I jsut wandered throught the increasingly nice and sometimes very mature forests angling towards the west ridge where I eventually donned snowshoes for the sometimes drifted sometimes very icy ridge tot the top. Didnt see any winter entries! Charged down the bowl seeing one of the largest cornice collapses I have ever encountered. Eventually saw some tracks and looked off to my right to see a bobcat at the edge of the glade ~50 yards away. Wandered down the narrow limestone cliff lined canyon crossing on dubious snow bridges multiple times. Came across a dead furruginous hawk and then a quick hike down and out. Great peak that actually hase alot of possibilities for fun ski descents for those that are so inclined.
