Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Bald Rock is the 4th highest named high point in Alabama. It is located within Cheaha State Park, which has an entry fee of $5 per person, but this gives you access to both Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in Alabama, and Bald Rock, which has a huge .3 mile boardwalk built all the way to a magnificent overlook. The actual highest point for Bald Rock is located on a large boulder to the left of the boardwalk just before the overlook. My entire roundtrip hike and visit only took 20 minutes. |
