Ascent Trip Report

The dirt road--3N03--to the peak is in really bad shape in a few sections. There are about 1 1/2 miles total of big rocks and ruts that are difficult to navigate. A 4WD is a necessity for the road--it's about the worst I've driven. If I were going to do this hike again, I'd take 2N02 instead of 3N03. There are some really rough spots in 2N02, but the road is in a little better shape than 3N03.

We parked in the suggested parking area; the faint use trail starts about 15 or so yards to the right (south) of the parking area. From there, it's over a couple of gullies and past a few old mine workings, but nothing too difficult. I was surprised to see practically no wildflowers on the hike; maybe it's just a little too early, but i didn't see many poised to bloom either. Lunch at North Shore Cafe in Fawnskin capped a fine day.
