Ascent Trip Report

One word "TOUGH" Now I know why the P-Bagger just posted this peak but didn't climb it. From Pearbloosom Hwy turned south on 126th st turned left on Ave W which turns into Valyermo then turned right on Big Rock Creek rd. Turned right on to dirt forest rd 4N11A followed to end and South Fork Campground. Hiked the south fork trail west, crossed the creek and continued up the trail about a half mile to a ravine going north. Scrambled up the scree to a black rock wall. Climbed north/east thru an opening and up to the ridge. This section was a 45 to 50 degree angle with loose dirt and rocks. Once on the ridge it opened up to just 45 degree dirt and a few trees,it was 2 steps up 1 slide back, followed this to the summit. The last 100 ft were thick manzanita brush. The summit was a small clear opening with an old tire to mark the highpoint. On the way down we surfed the dirt down and headed for and stayed on the west side of the ravine bypassing the cliff. The last section down to the trail was more sliding on scree. Hit the trail and back to the car. Stopped at Charlie Brown's for some well earned Date Shakes.
