Ascent Trip ReportNewfound Gap to Clingmans Dome. Walked around near Mount Collins summit for half an hour looking for a survey marker and never found one. There was a pink ribbon hanging from a tree with the elevation matching up. Saw many thru hikers traveling north on my hike. Summit is a good place to stop for lunch if you're going out and back to Clingmans dome without going a half mile off trail to mount collins shelter. |
