Ascent Trip ReportFrom the lower Gold Camp Rd/High Drive TH, I took off for the Seven Bridges trail and ran to Jones Park, thoroughly enjoying the beautifully and steadily climbing trail as it wound back and forth over Cheyenne Creek. I was simply astounded when I hit the gorgeous groves of young aspens, and soon after made it to Jones Park. I believe I took 668 at this point and linked up with the Round the Peak trail shortly, and quickly hopped over to what I believed was a social taking me up Tenney Crags. I was wrong, but I got a dope ass view of the trio and, still motivated and moving quickly because of slightly overcast skies, tore towards Tenney Crags, and ended up finding a fantastic 4th class scramble up its northwestern aspect. I spent some time at this summit and then hightailed up the ridgeline to Arthur and Garfield respectively, then I did my best to stay on Garfields southern ridgeline with occasional dropdowns to the delicious creek in the drainage to wet my whistle. I ended up linking back up with my trail for a nice long lollipop loop. |
