Ascent Trip ReportEast of Woodstock, exit Hwy 401 on Oxford Road 29 / Drumbo Road and follow it east for 14 km. The high point is northeast of the Ayr Road / Drumbo Road intersection. I drove to house #861 on Drumbo Road to ask for permission to hike to the high point, but unfortunately the owner was not home. So I drove back towards Ayr Road and drove up the driveway to house #897. I knocked on the door and was greeted by the friendly owner 'Chris'. I explained the reason for my visit and he told me he had no problem with me crossing his land to access the high point which was actually on his neighbour's land (Gerald?).
I parked my van near his barn, and set off north along the field partition line towards the wood lot at the north end of his property. Once I reached the edge of the forest, I turned east and followed it to a path that entered the forest. I follow the path north for a few hundred feet, made my way to the north edge of the wood lot and then followed east edge of the wood lot extension north to the high point. |
