Ascent Trip ReportI saw a nice little point called Point 6509 and headed over there to climb it too. There is a clearly visible trail up this small subpeak. I passed the Pinnacle (as it is called on other peakbagging sites) but when I got past the saddle between peaks the barricade became visible. Here we go again. At the trail junction there is signage saying do not go up the point 6509 they want to revegatate the trail.
Disaapointed that I could not explore this USGS subpeak I headed back to the main trail I came up and found a legal use trail up Pinncale. The bump itself is nondescript but on each side of the pinnacle is an impressive quarry activity. On the west side there is a sheer cliff ledge walk that you can go across without the park folks saying not to which suprised me since the vertical exposure on both sides of this odd feature is lethal in both sides. Fun photos.
Then headed back to car. Excercise cleared out the iregular heart beat and I back to normal again.
