Ascent Trip ReportSecond time up this very scenic little peak, in beautiful Grands Jardins park.
This time, though, it was a hike in -24 C, plus additional windchill, and it turned out to be a challenging time to be doing anything outdoors...especially up on the exposed summit plateau.
besides hiking up the Mont du Lac des Cygnes, I tried a small neighbouring mountain as well, but turned around due to extreme cold and variable snow/ice conditions.
The entire circuit, with my side hike, took about 3.5 hours. My eyelashes almost froze together and it proved difficult to manipulate anything with bare hands. A good training day!
