Ascent Trip Report

Drove from SLC to Star City the night before. Camped about a mile from Queen of Sheba mine, the road was washed out and a massive landslide covered even further. We walked up with our ski boots until we hit a massive debris field from an avalanche. We booted up this debris field and then straight up the ridge to our left. Followed the ridge to the summit proper. Were able to skin up quite far with just skis, skins, and ski crampons. Eventually we boot packed and put on mountaineering crampons... It would have been possible to do without them, but the angle hit ~45deg for quite a while, it made things easier. We skiied from the summit of star peak through a massive gully and back down the slide path. Almost skiied all the way back to Queen of Sheba mine! Epic day!
