Ascent Trip ReportSummit of Mansfield from Smugglers Notch through 4' of wet snow, up and over the Profanity Trail from Taft Lodge.
If you have your shit together and are modestly fit, it's an easy hike in the summer. Easy hike in the winter. Not an easy hike when you're plowing through wet snow in 40 degree melt weather and have 2' piles of snow slapping you in the face, while trying to find your way through dozens of plowed ski trails that aren't actually a trail at all. Somehow took 7 hours to do 6 miles. |
