Ascent Trip ReportDidn't necessarily have a difficult time finding the TH, just kept questioning myself if it was really that far down this snow covered road with snowmobiles everywhere. Left the trailhead at 11:30 and it took about 40 minutes at leisurely pace to reach the summit and tower. Trail was broken just fine, but with the temps. being in the low 40's this day, all the snow was wet and really stuck to the snowshoes in clumps. Total time was about 1:20, with 20 of those minutes spent chatting on the summit. Met a couple of nice people along the way and fully enjoyed hiking a new firetower that wasn't part of the challenge when I completed all 28 some years ago. Now that I'm working on my winter rocker for the same challenge, this one counts as #12. |
