Ascent Trip ReportFrom the summit of North Dome it is a bit of a steep descent with a few ledges to navigate around but not as many as on the Eastern slope. We passed a group coming the other way and were able to follow their fresh tracks to rest of the way to Sherrill's canister. The hike during the winter was so much better than during the summer with all of the overgrowth being under snow. We celebrated #34 at the summit and then continued East down a really nice descent around the south side of the drainage to a parking lot off of Route 42 that I never knew was there before. Our new ADK Winter School friends gave us a ride back to our car.
