Ascent Trip Report

H.H.H. The word for today HOT. Arriving at trailhead at Lincoln Gap el. 2410 at 10;30 a.m. thought it would be cooler at this el., was not. Quickly made my way south bound up trail making good time to Sunset Ledge. By the looks on the faces of hikers I passed they were being affected by the heat, had planned on whacking up other mtns. but made a change due to heat, being on a trail felt like a day off- a walk in the park compared to off trailing in the mtns. Less than two hours from the trail head I arrived at Mt. Grant, the temperature at 12:20 p.m. was 75, el. 3623, in the valleys was probably in the 90s. On the way back 1.25 miles from Lincoln Gap passed a guy lying down on trail trying to recover from the heat and get his energy levels back.
