Ascent Trip ReportI've seen this trail in both winter and summer, but I had not done it yet since the inception of the Tupper Lake Triad. Sun was trying to shine amidst some clouds and temperatures were in the mid-20's. There was a group that arrived at the TH the same time as us, but started up the trail as we were putting on our snowshoes. We caught up to them in a matter of minutes and saw why the had got off to such a quick start...they were bare-booting it up. The father of the group was hiking in leather loafers! They let us pass and we made relatively short work of the rest of the trip. Trail was broken, but it did look like the area saw some fresh snow in the last day or two. Appeared to be about of foot of powder on top of the crusty snow off the edge of the trail. We spent a few minutes at the top and avoided going up in the tower. It was just too windy and we didn't feel like taking our snowshoes off. Entire trip was 1:20 minutes and was 1 of 3 peaks today to complete the winter Tupper Lake Triad.
