Ascent Trip Report

We approached the peak from the west side. Driving direction:
- take exit 211 of I-10
- north on 87 for 0.4 miles
- turn east (right) on Milligan; this is initially paved and eventually turns into dirt
- pass an unlocked gate to get onto State Trust land
- continue on Milligan until you hit the power line road and turn south (right)
- the power line road become a little bit rougher and rockier with a couple of wash crossings
- continue until you come to spur that turns left towards the canal
- cross the canal via the bridge
Once you are on the other side of the canal you should be able to see a cairn and pick up an old mining road. As you get higher up you will find a well cairned use trail which stays to the right side (as you go up) of the main drainage. Eventually higher up the trail cuts left into a prominent gully. Above the gully the slopes become more gentle and there is a use trail which switch backs up right to the summit.
