Ascent Trip Report

Was going to bag Saddle Mountain after Peak 1609, but thought would see how close I could get up towards Washington Pass. About .75 miles away the snow was to deep cor my civic and I decided to do a stroll to the pass to scout it out. At the pass the snow started to get deep, but I figured the direct approach would be essentially mostly snow free, so I de ided to go for the summit. It was up awesome up to the intersection with the road then snow up to mid shin. Went up the road a ways then into the brush again. Mostly snow free in the woods again, with the exception of knee high postholes, when it couldnt be avoided. Finally when I intersected with the road again, I slogged the last several hundred yards up the road to the summit in mid calf to knee high snow. Great views.
