Ascent Trip Report

Pulled off PCH at the park entrance and hiked the Headlands Trail past the restrooms. The little lake was overflowing so we continued and on the north bound curve we cut off the trail and went south crossing a natural dirt bridge,we stayed on the west side of a little valley on the grassy slope. Near the head we crossed and climbed to the east side up to the summit. We found the summit BM's and got a photo, which was tough as the wind was a sustained 45 mph and the rain was like needles on the face. We returned the same way to get off the hilltops and into the valley out of the wind. Even with full rain gear we had to change all our clothes.
