Ascent Trip ReportFound an open window between storms and did a short hike up Bally peak.
Started at the popular Redbud trailhead next to Cache Creek. I started up the slope heading ESE through nice open grassland and oak woodland following occasional cattle trails. Eventually reached a ridgeline NE of the peak and followed a short distance to Point 1865. The ridge veered left here and I followed the ridgeline to the summit. Fire had cleared out much of the brush of this route in 2015. A good layer of grass now covers the burn area.
I returned a different way following the old 4WD track north back to Hwy 20. Reaching Hwy 20, I followed the Hwy back to the trailhead.
