Ascent Trip ReportThe "A" walk was to be Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Grasmoor, Eel Crag, and on to Causey Pike. We didn't get started until around 10:30, and got to the top of Grisedale Pike at about 12:15 in horrendous wind (worse than last time, but at least no snow!). I was in sorry shape, my legs felt like lead, but I made it ok. Malcolm didn't make it -- he turned back with a few others just a couple minutes short of the top. We huddled out of the wind on the top and decided to carry on (despite the warnings of a Mountain Rescue guy on a dog training trip "I know why I'm here, but why are you here?"). Got to the col below Hopegill Head and decided not to do it. The route (and top) was even more exposed than what we'd done already, and the wind was blowing off the cliff. Headed back via Coledale House, down, and back up to Outerside and over Barrow.
