Ascent Trip ReportHiked from beginning of Stratton Brook Pond Road (road plowed only to houses at very beginning of road near route 27) on snowmobile trail to Appalacian trail. Headed north on AT towards the Horns to junction with Bigelow Range Trail. Bushwacked from there to summit using iPhone to determine highest point. Recorded highest point was 2690 ft @ 45-8-11N; 70-21-25W. Summit is covered with small evergreens making travel difficult. Several inches of snow on top. Was 7 degrees at start and 13 degrees at finish. |
