Ascent Trip Report

One night trip out to pine creek lake in early October 2016 with an ascent of the peak in the morning of day 2. This peak out and back would be a long but doable day. I enjoyed it with the extra time to relax by the beautiful alpine lake and explore the area. Ascent is straightforward, a rough trail break right when you gain the lakes and follows the base of a drainage to easy talus. We slowly gained the ridge and descended the south side of the y-couloir which was the most unstable portion bit still very manageable with a trekking pole. Steep walk/scramble up the last bit to the summit lands you on a low angle wide peak. Amazing views and a bit exposed if weather is coming in. Took about 1.5 hours to get up from lakes and an hour to descend. Keep an eye out for garnets on the way up!
