Ascent Trip ReportThe high point is in the vicinity of the junction of Thorsen Road and Bank Street, near the entrance to the Agren Memorial Park. The King County GIS map shows a 480-foot contour east of Thorsen and south of Bank, in a parcel that is part of the park so therefore public land. From the road, this wooded area did seem like it was up on a minor plateau, so I decided to bushwhack a short way in to investigate.
However, this little forest is extremely dense vegetation that makes travel almost impossible--it's a total machete-required situation like in the Amazon or something. At least there were no thorn bushes, and I was there on a cold day in January, so it could have been worse, I suppose. Still, determining the ground terrain in there was not feasible at all. I laboriously thrashed around at the supposed contour, made a couple other forays into the thicket, and called it good. Very unpleasant.
