Ascent Trip Report

I parked at the visitor center; I could have gotten closer on the roads had I had a car that would have taken it, but they are serious about the high clearance. I started out down the Mormon's Mine road until I hit a road closed to vehicular traffic that headed due south, labeled only Restricted road on the maps. I followed it until I hit the fence line, which had been cleared on both sides, but still had some vegetation and a number of washes. I headed east following the fence until I hit the point where the fence turned, which is where the GPS placed this "peak". I bagged it and returned the way I came.

A simple enough hike; not terribly interesting. Just done to grab a peak that nobody else had. I thought of continuing on to some of the smaller hills, but it was night by then and while Las Vegas provides quite a bit of light, it wasn't enough to go cross-country.
