Ascent Trip Report

excellent desert peak. trail is reasonably well cairned, and following the gpx of tracks of others made it a pretty straightforward hike.

the kofa queen canyon road is pretty rocky... but i've driven worse in both my audi and the range rover. as luck would have it, on the drive out, i punctured the inner sidewall of one of my tires. while the full size spare is great, i'm now beginning to appreciate the pain of the oddball tire size on the range rover (stock with 21" rims). we're in blythe CA for the night, and local tire shops laughed at the tire size "no way"... i'm probably out of luck until the land rover shops open monday and i can order the oddball size. makes me pretty convinced that i should swap out the wheels for 20", at least then i could have bought a temporary replacement tonight.
