Ascent Trip Report

Left the Whitehorse Shell Gas Station at 7pm Tuesday. The night was clear. A couple gave us a ride for about 5 miles saving some distance. We skinned up nf-18 in full moonlight. Camped at 3k on the side of the road. Clouds rolled in overnight. Attempted to get to Round Wednesday but confusion about the route and limited daylight had me turn around at dusk and ski with Josh back to camp in the dark. We left Thursday Dec. 15th skiing 7 miles back to Swede Heaven. 23 miles round-trip and 2k gain. We will return using Matt Burton's short, steep and sweet route up nf-1890 and Round's South Ridge as soon as weather and snow conditions cooperate.
