Ascent Trip ReportParked at the East Railroad Bed in Lanesboro. This small cluster of homes and camps was once a bustling semi-permanent logging camp. From here I skied east on the RR bed for about 1 mile - the bed is maintained by VAST and does receive some four wheel drive traffic. I turned at the first right which is a forest service road petering out to rough trail that runs up into in the col between Marshfield Mountain and Drew. With 3-4 inches of snow and a nice grade I was able to ski a good deal of this hike. SOme impressive view of Marshfield mountain which from this perspective show a massive headwall. Finally leaving the trail I bushwhacked across the ridge line with microspikes to the summit which is broad and tree covered. A wonderful winter hike!
