Ascent Trip ReportWe parked at the village of Nadan ( 4WD needed) at 1200m and ascended a pathless ridge and gulley to the plateau through a break unseen at valley level.The plateau trip involved ascent and descent of several gulleys. Nothing technical, just slow on pathless, boulder-y terrain in heat. Despite starting at first light we did not reach the summit until 4 pm and had an unplanned bivvi with fire to keep us warm in pasture below. By the time we got down the following lunchtime we were thirsty as there was no water en route. GPS track available. The sketch map in the book Adventure Trekking in Oman ( available on web) proved accurate and helpful. |
