Ascent Trip Report

This is the second to last peak on my list of Ada County peaks. Its a quick little hike with a good amount of elevation gain for the distance, so it's relatively steep. There are great views of Boise, Lucky Peak, Kepros Peak, Mt Heinen, etc from the top of this peak.

There is a temptation to turn left and head up the ridge too soon as to not lose elevation, but keep going straight until you come to the second ridge. I made this mistake and the first ridge will take you to a gully you need to cross and therefore you lose all the elevation anyway. My route down is a better route than the one I took on the way up. Hope it helps.
