Ascent Trip Report7-26-2002 - hired guide (mistake), didn't speak English
camped at camp on mountain, guide tried to cook supper
7/27/2002 - started climb to top before sunrise
got to summit in dark. Guide wanted to immediately descend.
I refused. (I had done that on Kilimanjaro and wanted to actually see the summit.)
We took pictures and then descended.
After I paid guide I saw sign at ranger station stating that guide should not be paid more than a considerably smaller amount. |
