Ascent Trip Report

This was an easy hike once I got pointed in the right direction. I was driving southwest on Chestnut Ridge Road. I used this address:

3096 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Blairsville, PA 15717

I found the state "Pennsylvania State Game Land" right away. I continued down the road 200 feet till you can see the pipeline clearing going down a hill. I then continued on and turned around at the house mailbox 2425 and made my way back to the "Pennsylvania State Game Land" parking lot. I parked and made my way across the road and did a short bushwhack into the clearing on the back side. I continued to the field and around the edge of the field up over a hill till I could see the small pond. I little camping shed has been built by the pond. I walked along the tree line to the back corner and entered the woods on a trail. I followed some trails up the hill and there were multiple branches of the trail. I followed my GPS to the highpoint which was marked with a small cairn. There are no views. this is a really easy hike. I saw one deer stand out by the chest of the hill beside the field.

A small cairn marks the highpoint for the ridge. There was an un-maintained trail that lead right to the point. (2016-11-16). Photo by Wayne Snyder.
