Ascent Trip Report

Don't be fooled by the 1650 ft elevation gain. If you take into account all the ridges I had to cross, it was over 4000 ft. Unlike on most hikes, going down was not much easier than going up due to the 1000 ft ridge blocking the path between US 60 and Whiteface Mountain. There is no easy route to this peak it seems. This was one of the most difficult hikes I've ever done, when the vertical gain, routefinding difficulties, rough terrain, and cactus threat are taken into consideration.
