Ascent Trip Report

Without any advance research I took off on a solo ascent from the pass and went up the eastern ridge. While Class 3, the vertical exposure felt a bit creepy to me, and at a certain point I hit an area that appeared to be a single line of rocks, no path, with vertical drops on both sides. It was late in the day and I did not have the time or energy to research alternative routes, so I headed down. I gather from GPS that I might have fallen just short of the East Peak. I will probably return some day after more research and perhaps more climbing experience. The view to Whitney and South is amazing.
