Ascent Trip Report

After having completed the 3rd high point in a single day I began my 4th long drive of the day and possibly the worst. It was late afternoon and I was trying to go into Philidelphia. The drive was a nightmare of traffic and bad roads due to the location that I was driving from. I hit. the rush hour traffic and was in grid lock for almost an hour I finally got tired of it and went into the surface roads into Deleware. It was suburb driving and was very safe and had no problems thanks to the GPS I had set up prior to my going on this road trip and programing into my phone.

I parked in down a streat after I passed the sign in the neighborhood and walked back to the border, but it was dusk at this point and very dark out. I had a great deal of trouble finding the marker but after 10 minutes I was able to get it done. A geo marker on the side of a suburban road...Ugh. No view...No hike...All I saw were headlights as car after car drove by me as I took my goofy pictues. Sigh!

My day of High point hell was not complete however and I had a long drive ahead of me. I immediatly headed out to head on I95 south to Washington DC. After an hour on that road I headed west towards the far west side of Virginia. I would not get to my next high point on this day but I had to get to my hotel room in Harrisburg.

Completed Highpoint #20
