Ascent Trip ReportThe easiest and most enjoyable way to ascend this peak is via Shepard Hill Road which is a Class 4 Road off Eagle Ledge Road another Class 4. For the ascent and from the end of the Town Road section of Eagle Ledge Road, I headed in an northeasterly direction into the woods along the road bushwhacking through some up and down terrain all the way to the peak. On the descent I headed in the direction of Shephard Hill Road and picked up a logging road not far from the summit. The road is in decent shape and it was a quick hike down to Shephard Hill. AT the juncture of the logging road and Shephard HIll there is a sign - "Obey the Signs/Keep our Trail Open" - SHephard Hill Road is officially classed as a Town Trail.
Hobart Mountain is an unexceptional wooded peak but very enjoyable on a mid fall day. There's a jar at the summit with a handful of entries.
