Ascent Trip ReportUS 501 north out of Durham, right onto Harris Mill Rd in Rougemont and then a right onto Mountain Brook Rd and right again onto Rhododendron Lane. Parked on wide shoulder where lane bends left up to tower. We hiked up remainder of eroded lane to tower and then beyond to summit of Red Mt. We dipped down other side, crossed over Mountain Brook Rd and visited Castle Mont Rouge and then returned to car. |
