Ascent Trip Report

From the Lewis county highpoint, we wandered around the woods on unmarked roads for an hour before finally finding the Deer Creek Road. We found it a couple of times but we were locked in by gates, and had to backgtrack. Once we got out, we found our way to Zaza road and followed good directions to the Madden Corrals and on past the Garden Creek Preserve to the area of the high point. On ascent we made it cross country directly up the ridge through fairly open terrain. It is farther than you would anticipate to the final high point, but still a fairly easy hike up the ridge. No cairn was found, but possibly the remains of one and an old stick. We were on top a 11:45. Two highpoints before noon. Looked around a little bit and then found an old logging road down, slight off the south west side of the ridge which made the descent somewhat easier. Lots of shooting around us as elk season was in full swing.
