Ascent Trip Report

I used the old Mt. Rose trail head, which goes up the old road. Nice trail hike. Trail was covered by recent snow, so I got off trail at about the 10,000-foot elevation and headed straight up the east slope. Nice views from the top, this is a good alternative to the Mt. Rose trail. The pond had plenty of water in it.
This was my first hike since I broke my leg. It was to firm up my confidence in my recovering leg, which I busted in half (Tibia and Fibula) less than 6 months prior. Titanium plates and many screws worked very well with no issues. Floppy leg was no fun, but the leg is strong again and I feel good, able to get up a mountain.
