Ascent Trip Report

After morning ascent of Puigmal we make short drive to La Molina ski centre. Operates weekends only at this time of year and stops completely mid October, €11 round trip. Runs until just before 6pm.

From top station a 200m ascent on grassy piste or tracks. Cylindrical trig pillar (no marker on top) and a very shiny Catalunya trig bolt a couple of metres to N. Small cairn 20m to south could be as high; another top 200m to S is several metres lower. Between them is a café, closed.

Back to car park and drive back to Font-Romeu where we head up to Le Calme ski centre xxxx (car psrk), where I make a quick misty ascent of Pic de la Calme 2215m p180m approx. Follow left hand chairlift; track develops, continues as a steep rocky path with blue paint marks. Ends at a bench and granite tor xxxx with a Table d'Orientation stating the summit is 2215m; however the highpoint itself xxxx is the top of the chairlift which comes up from the north.

Back to Font-Romeu for dinner with mountain runners Natalie White and Robbie Britton who happen to be in area.
