Ascent Trip ReportThis was our 1st attempt to the summit.We started at Piuma and Las Virgenes. Hiked the creek up past the water treatment plant and up to a dirt road at the base of the mountain.This was a bust as there is now way up.We went back and Parked in Malibu State Park.Took Crags rd to Century Mtwy south.Went around the fence into the Salvation Army Camp.Before the 1st building we cut up a creekbed which curved around to a trailhead that goes up. Took this steep trail up to the rocks and climbed rocks then trail then rocks to the cross(seen in the opening sequence of M.A.S.H.)then climbed a few more feet to the summit.Went down the backside to a saddle. Then down the north canyon over a few waterfalls back to Century Mtwy. |
