Ascent Trip ReportThis was an after work special. My brother and I headed to Dry Canyon to climb Logan Peak. The conditions were great. Weather was nice. We sped up the trail, and went up the west face. We made it to the summit and then headed over to the bowl to the southwest. We found a nice drift, with some cool cornices. We golfed some snowballs into the bowl and searched the cornices for weak spots. It looks like the weak spots had all fallen off before we got there. Too bad. The evening light scattered among the scattering clouds was stupendous, and the long shadows cast by the setting sun were especially fantastic. |
