Ascent Trip Report

Took a bus down into the Island where I started my hike up to the Dry Creek trail head. Went up Dry Creek Canyon and grabbed the south syncline trail up to the crest below Little Baldy and above Temple Baldy. There was about 4 to 5 inches of fresh snow, and the weather was still a little stormy. It was snowing lightly at times, but it was also very windy. Once I made the crest I attempted to climb further because I thought I could make it to Logan Peak, by some foolish idea I had in my head. I turned back when the wind and weather chased me off the mountain. I descended the Welch's Flat road down into Providence Canyon, which was actually a very nice hike. I saw some fresh Mountain Lion tracks, which was slightly concerning. They were following some Cow tracks. I found the cows, but I never found the Mountain Lion. I finally made it into the canyon, checked out the waterfalls, and went down the road to Providence itself. I walked back to the University from there.
