Ascent Trip ReportOur friend Lisa bragged up Crystal Cove as a great hiking spot.So we had her show us around. We parked off Hwy 1 at the El Moro Visitor Center and started up the fire rd. About 3/4 up we cut onto Ticketron Trail then up to Red Tail Ridge. At Bommer Ridge Trail we went right and hit Crystal Cove State Park Highpoint then Peak 1063(freeway fence hopping is involved). Doubled back down Bommer to hit Peak 1034 (the trail to the summit was way overgrown)continued on Bommer to to Moro Ridge Trail. We cut back on a singletrack called Fenceline which topped out on Moro Ridge Benchmark, then it paralleled Bommer all the way back to Red Tail (along here Lisa's eyes caught a shed deer antler which Red Viking carved into a necklace for her).Took Red Tail down to another singletrack called Rattlesnake and hit Center Benchmark,at a sharp 90 we went down a animal trail to El Moro Trail and followed this to the lower parking lot then across a trail above the abandoned trailer park back to the truck. It was a good hike, she had a right to brag.
