Ascent Trip Report

a year earlier i climbed nearby mount bachelor, thinking that south sister was out of my reach. researching after that trip i learned it was within reach! so it was one of the main attractions on my oregon trip this year. i arranged to hike south sister on a day with great weather, and so i got to enjoy the awesome views (nice contrast to my bad luck on mcloughlin earlier in the week).

steep hike, 3000' in 2mi, took me 2.5h for that section alone.

at the top i followed the use trail around the crater, which has a short scramble section. it's a nice little loop.
