Ascent Trip Report

Bald Mountain lies just north of Wheeler Peak and is easily accessible from the Wheeler Peak trail.

After climbing Wheeler-my second summit-and deciding that continuing on to Jeff Davis was too risky due to high winds, I considered Bald Mountain to be low hanging fruit so I descended to the sharp turn in the trail and headed north. The route was a mix of krumholtz and talus with a bit of vertical gain thrown in but the summit was reached in about an hour. Oh, and there was no relief from the wind.
Beautiful view of the top two mountains in the Snake Range and the Bald Mountain cairn.
