Day trip to the Sierras. Parked at end of road, walked down to store and along west edge of lakes, looping right uphill to the pass, then right again to the summit. Took the visible shortcut heading directly back to the lake, well marked with cairns. Back before dark, then dinner in Placerville, and home.
