Ascent Trip ReportStarting at Dawson Saddle, we followed the aptly named Dawson Saddle Trail for 1.8 miles until reaching the PCT just a few hundred vertical feet below the summit of Throop. A short northbound walk on the famous trail brought us to an obvious use trail that led us to the top of the 9,138' mountain. After taking in the views we headed in a southwesterly direction toward Mount Hawkins but opted to skip Hawkins on this very warm late July day and returned to the Dawson Saddle/PCT Trail junction. From there we retraced our footsteps to Dawson Saddle and called it a day.
